Kanas is Mongol, the means is “beautiful and mysterious”. It is located in the north of Burqin county Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region China, is the primeval forest nature reserve of China. It is very strange that scenery and organism of Kanas are made up, the ecosystem is unique, there are glacier, frozen soil, high mountains, river, lake, forest, grassland and various wild animals here. Kanas is known as only “The Swiss scenery” in Asia. The scenery here is so beautiful as to exclaim by people. One of the most mysterious is the Kanas Lake. Kanas scenery has six wonders.

1. Long dyke of dead wood.

There is a long dyke of dead wood in Kanas lake northernmost. The long dyke of dead wood will float when the flood, normally say these dead wood will float to the low reaches. But the strange thing is these dead wood will float to the upper reaches of river against the current, range in the upper reaches of Kanas Lake.

2. “The lake monster”.

There is huge “The lake monster” in Kanas Lake. Local Tuwa ethnic minority legend: the enormous lake monster can spray and often eat the cattle and sheep of bank. Numerous tourist and the scientific investigation personnel observe the huge fish from the mountaintop personally in recent years, groups and make waves, several dozen meters-long black object swimming in the lake slowly, this has increased mysterious color for the beautiful Kanas Lake.

3.”The sea of clouds and Buddha light”.

Mount the mountaintop in early morning — Watch Fish Pavilion, view and admire the sunrise scenery. It is obvious a sea of clouds seethes over Kanas, the fog lift. You can see such a wonder Buddha light if you are lucky.

4. Lake that can change color.

Kanas Lake another marvelous sight is the color change, known as “Lake that can change color”. Lake water’s colors are different throughout the year. The reason of the lake color change is that the seasonal variation causes the mineral composition change of lake water; and different color of the plant around is reflected in the lake.

5. The Moon Bay.

The Moon Bay is a blue crescent bay in the gorge. The color of Moon Bay varies with Kanas lake water. The Moon Bay looks like a pearl inlaid in Kanas River.

6. Tuwa ethnic minority village.

Tuwa ethnic minority is an old nationality in China. Tuwa ethnic minority makes a living by hunting. They live in the Kanas lakeside. they are brave and strong, good at horsemanship, good at skiing, good at singing and dancing, still keep primitive life style now. Tuwa ethnic minority is full of mystery like Kanas.
