Ma Po Bean Curd is known as Mapo Tofu too. Mapo Tofu is the typical Sichuan cuisine. Sichuan is a province in the south of China. The people in Sichuan generally like eating the hot food. The most outstanding characteristic of Sichuan cuisine is — Hot. It is said this is one of American favorite Chinese food.
Ingredients:
2 ounces pork
2 tablespoons white wine
1 teaspoon cornstarch
1/2 tablespoon chili paste
1 teaspoon garlic paste
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1/2 teaspoon fresh ginger, minced
1 package tofu, cut into cubes
1 cup green peas
1/2 cup chicken broth
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
Directions:
1. Combine pork, white wine and 1 teaspoon cornstarch in a bowl and set aside.
2. Combine chili paste, cayenne pepper, soy sauce, garlic, and ginger in another bowl and set aside.
3. Heat 1 tablespoon vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Cook pork until evenly browned. Stir tofu and peas. Pour in chicken broth and bring to a boil. Stir in dissolved cornstarch, and cook until thickened. Ok! It’s very hot!!!
