The mysterious ancient tomb and off-the-wall legend handed down from ancient times, though I have already written the article about Chinese ancient tomb before this, still far from meeting everybody’s interest, so I write out one article about this today. Discuss the mystery under the ground with everybody.
Mawangdui is situated in the east of Changsha City Hunan province China. People found three tumulus of Western Han Dynasty here unexpectedly in 1972. Later on Mawangdui became the abbreviated name of these three tumulus of Western Han Dynasty. The exploration of Mawangdui tumulus is a great archaeological discovery that shocks the whole world in the 20th century.
It is a “non-rotten” female corpse in the tumulus that let Mawangdui tumulus be well known. This female corpse has already been buried under the ground more than 2,200 years. But the appearance is perfect while excavating, the skin of whole body is fine and smooth, the subcutaneous fat is plump, muscles are whippy, even loops and whorls on a finger are all very clear, nearly like fresh corpse. Inject preservative into her body, her blood vessel can bulge unexpectedly, this is one miracle that shocks world. Burying articles together has a large number of precious history relics such as the lacquer ware, pottery, silk painting, silk fabrics, musical instrument…Conclude this female corpse is the prime minister’s wife Xin Zhui in the Western Han Dynasty through the archaeologist’s research.
When Mawangdui female corpse was excavated, had filled with a kind of red liquid in her coffin. The scientists think it is a kind of “The supernatural liquid” that makes Xin Zhui not rotten more than 2,200 years. The composition of red liquid is complicated through testing, it mix with the cinnabar, therefore it’s red. But the cinnabar is harmful to the human body, contain arsenic and mercury in cinnabar. Detect a lot of composition of traditional Chinese herb in the red liquid, can affirm that such red liquid has function of sterilizing, can guarantee the corpse is not rotten. And because the coffin is sealed very well, isolated with the external air, has avoided bacterium’s erosion to the corpse. These factors cause Xin Zhui not rotten more than 2200 years.
You can go to see this old lady with 2200 years old if you come to China, she is in Changsha City museum Hunan province China. However, because the scientist is unable to analyze all compositions of the red liquid of coffin, can only use the modern antiseptic method, at the same time because corpse touched the air, so, what you see now is a mummy.
